The representation of the momentary beauty of light is at the heart of Mike Silva's intimate paintings of interiors, still lifes, landscapes and the people he knows. He takes his imagery from an ongoing personal archive of photographs of his surroundings.

This exhibition is presented in collaboration with the De La Warr Pavilion and is Mike Silva's first solo exhibition in a public institution. Red, image featured above is part of the University of Warwick art collection.

Mao Ishikawa is a globally renowned photographer who has documented daily life in her home of Okinawa for over 40 years.

Okinawa was controlled by the USA until the island was returned to Japanese sovereignty in 1972, although it is still occupied by US troops. Ishikawa's powerful work examines the complex colonial, racial and sexual politics in Okinawan life.

This is her first solo exhibition in a UK public institution.
