WAS Phase 2

Get on board! The new Warwick Assessment System

Phase 1 implementation of the new Warwick Assessment System (WAS) is now drawing to a close. A huge thank you goes to the staff and students of the academic departments who enthusiastically got involved with this phase. The aim of Phase 1 was to get the system up and running with a selection of departments as quickly as possible to be able to run some live assessments and exams and explore the functionality and capabilities of the system within the Warwick setting, whilst gathering understanding about the levels of support that will be required for a fuller roll out. You can read more about Phase 1 here

Phase 2

Therefore, the next phase of the roll out will seek to directly replace AEP for assessments usually uploaded in pdf format to the AEP, in the Spring/Summer sessions for the academic year 2022/23. This will then allow the decommissioning of AEP at the end of 2023 all being well.

This means that all departments currently using AEP will need to have moved across to the new system for the 2023/24 exam sessions

Preparation work

Essential work is being carried out between now and Spring 2023 to integrate WAS with SITS and Tabula to ensure full functionality for the Phase 2 departments.

What does this mean for my department?

All departments currently using AEP or any other system for straightforward pdf upload exams are welcome to apply to start using WAS. There will be a process for getting onboard which will involve the team assessing your departmental requirements so we would like a key contact from the department to get in touch via was@warwick.ac.uk by Friday 2nd September

A Chance to explore and experiment

Once your department is onboard with using WAS you will also have access to the staging version which will allow you to explore the full range of functionality the system can offer, and which will be available to use from 2023 onwards. You can read more about the system on the Wiseflow websiteLink opens in a new window.
