Spinner Offers The Gift of New Jobs At Christmas

Mercia Spinner, the project developed to support spin-off companies from eight West Midland Universities* anticipates to create new university jobs and well over 2,000 spin-off company jobs over the next decade.

The Spinner project, headed by Warwick Ventures, University of Warwick will be focusing on improving exploitation of research outcomes through the expansion of spin-out business creation activities in the eight West Midlands Universities.

Dr Ederyn Williams, Director of Warwick Ventures explains, " Mercia Spinner will be an exciting initiative where we will see a defined increase in spin-out companies in the future. With the increase in focus within this area, this will prove to be a positive effort which will benefit the universities and economy across the West Midlands. This is the first collaborative agreement of it’s kind which involves these particular universities, so Mercia Spinner is an innovation in itself."
