Seven Deadly Sins of Tech Transfer

25 February 2011

Warwick Ventures’ Business Development Manager Sam Gallagher will be delivering a guest lecture for the Institute of Knowledge Transfer in April.

The lecture, titled “Seven deadly sins of tech transfer”, will explore the current trends and issues affecting technology transfer and research commercialisation. Part of the IKT’s networking lecture series, the event will take place on 20 April and will be hosted by the Natural Environment Research Council at the NERC headquarters in Swindon.

Dr Gallagher has built a strong track record in the technology transfer field. She has worked across both academia and industry, starting out as an MRC post-doctoral research fellow before taking up a post as Senior Scientist at Amersham Biosciences and GE Healthcare. After several years working in industry in Australia as R&D Director and CEO of Biotech investment and startup, she moved back to the UK to work as a senior consultant with Isis Enterprise, in Oxford, before joining Warwick Ventures Ltd. last year.

The IKT aims to represent and support knowledge transfer and innovation professionals from both education and business sectors and it sets standards for the development of the knowledge transfer profession.
