WMG and goHDR announce new breakthrough in video technology
Researchers at WMG at the University of Warwick, in partnership with spin-out company goHDR, have announced a new breakthrough that will allow High Dynamic Range (HDR) video to be streamed directly to monitors and mobile devices. Warwick Ventures has been working with goHDR since the company was spun out in 2009.

Alternative to fullerenes in organic solar cells - just as exciting
A breakthrough in work to replace fullerene in organic solar cells has been announced by chemists at the University of Warwick. The technology is being commercialised with assistance from Dr Shum Prakash at Warwick Ventures.

Warwick pioneers new system for tumour grading
Warwick Ventures is looking for suitable industrial partners to help commercialise a new system for grading breast cancer tumours. The technology was developed by researchers in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Warwick.

Connect Midlands announces training events
Two events designed to help fledgling businesses get funding have been announced by Connect Midlands. The first, on 23 February 2012, invites business owners to “Be a VC” for an afternoon and view some business proposals from the other side of the table. The second event, Right Funds for You, is organised in partnership with Birmingham Science City and signposts businesses towards finance options and resources available in the West Midlands area.
Connect Midlands is a not-for-profit network, that supports technology and high growth companies to gain investment through training and mentoring, investment showcasing, and networking between businesses, investors and the professional services community in the Midlands. The University of Warwick is a prime partner in this network.
