Warwick Ventures Welcomes Latest European Colleague

This month saw the arrival of our new colleague Mr Luis Cortes from The University of Valencia. Mr Cortes has joined us from the University of Valencia and is being funded by the Dirección General de Infraestructuras Científicas y Tecnológicas ("DGCIICCTT"), (Valencia), on a 6 month secondment and will be working full time on a number of our key projects.

We are proud that Luis will be the third such foreign visitor we have had in the last year which highlights the growing co-operation between Governments and Higher Education Authorities in recognising the value of Technology Transfer Offices. Although we ourselves, were founded only 6 years ago and are still only quite young, relatively speaking Warwick has a lot of experience in this field and we are happy to share this knowledge with other Univeristies around the world.

Mr. Cortes is preceded by Mr Florian Kuhn from The Université de Technologie de Compiè who was with us on a 4 month secondment, and Mr. Joshua Samuel, a secondee from The University of New Brunswick Technology Transfer Office, in Canada. We hope that they have learnt much about Technology Transfer to take back to their respective Universities. It has been a shared learning experience and we have appreciated their insights, too.
