Warwick spinout looking for CEO to build on recent success
10 February 2012
Warwick Ventures CEO, Quentin Compton-Bishop, presented the University’s spinout company, Sonemat, at Birmingham Pitching for ManagementTM on Monday evening (6th February), hosted by AngelNews.
Sonemat are experts in non-destructive testing (NDT) and specialise in making fast, accurate, non-contact, ultrasonic devices for detecting changes in metal properties. This patented technology can be applied to many different applications, including thickness measurement, high-speed rail inspection, production line defect detection, pipe inspection and fill-level measurement in the brewing and beverage industry. The non-invasiveapproach of their innovation has allowed NDT to be used in new, previously inaccessible markets, such as in hot, sterile and corrosive industrial processes.
Sonemat’s Managing Director Steve Dixon says “Sonemat has been growing steadily, gradually building up consultancy, R&D contracts and product sales through word-of-mouth. We have recently won some significant new business and need a CEO to drive the company forward and build on our recent success.”
Quentin Compton-Bishop added “Sonemat is one of our most promising spinout companies. The team are leading experts in the field, their products are proven and the company is profit making. It is now ready to grow. With a talented CEO supporting them, I’m confident the company will go from strength to strength.”
Pitching for Management is a national series of events run by the European Investment news service, Angel News. It offers fast-growth companies the chance to present their business and job opportunities to talented potential candidates.
