Add comments or instructions to a form

Add comments or instructions to provide additional instructions or advice to form respondents.

Add or edit comments or instructions

  1. Browse to the form you wish to edit.

  2. Go to Edit > Edit formsbuilder page:

  3. Under Add a textbox, select Comments:

    Alternatively, select the Edit form component button for an existing comment you want to edit:

  4. The Add/Edit comments or instructions options appear:

  5. Enter the comments or instructions you want to display to respondents in the Text to appear box.

  6. Use the checkboxes to add dividing or blank lines above or below the text, as necessary.

  7. Select Save.

  8. In the preview, select the Move component down or Move component up buttons to position the instructions in the correct part of the form.

  9. Select Done.

Add a pop-up tooltip to a question

  1. Browse to the form you wish to edit.

  2. Go to Edit > Edit formsbuilder page:

  3. Use the list on the left to create a new question, or edit an existing one by selecting its Edit form component button.

  4. In the Label box, after the label text, enter an opening [popup] tag that contains the link text – for example:

  5. Next, enter the text you want to display in the tooltip, and add a closing [/popup] tag:

    Tip: You can use HTML to format the popup text.

  6. When you've finished adding the tooltip information, select Save.

  7. Select Done and view the published form. Select the link to test that the tooltip appears as intended:
