PGR Write Here, Write Now focused work sessions promote quiet study time, alongside breaks when you can chat to other students and grab some free refreshments. The perfect event to beat procrastination!
Term Two Sessions:
Week 2: Wednesday 15th January, 1pm -5pm, Wolfson Research Exchange Seminar Rooms
Week 6: Friday 14th February, 1pm - 5pm, Wolfson Research Exchange Seminar Rooms
Week 10: Wednesday 12th March, 1pm - 5pm, Wolfson Research Exchange Seminar Rooms
How the session runs
Loosely based on the Pomodoro technique® developed by Francesco Cirillo in the 1980s, the structure of the sessions are:
- 20 minutes of focused work - a short start to get your mind focused - perfect for planning the session
- 10 minutes break - chat to neighbours and grab a tea or coffee
- 4 x 45 minutes of focused work - silence your mobile and email and get on with writing and research
- 5 or 10 minute breaks - between the focussed sessions to chat to neighbours, refuel, and stretch
The purpose of the session isn't to give advice on the content or style of your writing - just to give you the time and space to work effectively, and to help you to structure your study time.
