Difficult Conversations
Aims of the session
This programme is designed to build confidence,capabilityand practical skills for managing difficult workplace conversations in a constructive,respectfuland psychologically safe way. Across two in-person workshops, supported reflective activities, an interim virtual Action Learning Set and a follow-up online session, participants will explore structured communication models, emotional awareness, inclusive leadershipapproachesand real-life workplace application. The programme encourages early intervention, reflectivepracticeand confident communication within complex or emotionally sensitive professional situations.
What will I learn?
Participants will learn practical frameworks and approaches to prepare for and lead difficult conversations with greater confidence and clarity. The programme explores communication techniques, emotional regulation, respectful challenge, performance conversations, activelisteningand psychologically safe dialogue. Learners will practise using realistic workplace scenarios, peerreflectionand coaching-informed methods. Between sessions, participants will complete reflective activities and workplace application tasks to support behaviour change, confidence building and the development of more constructive and effective professional conversations over time.
How do I join?
This programme includes multiple stages of learning and attendance at all elements is expected.
Participants will attend two in-person workshops on:
Wednesday 9th September 2026 from 10:00 -16:00
Wednesday 9th December 2026 from 10:00 -16:00
A live virtual online Interim Action Learning Set will take place on:
Wednesday 14th October 2026 11:00 -12:45
followed by a final online reflective session on
Wednesday 10th February 2027 11:00 - 12:45
