Core Concepts for Module Design

Backwards design and constructive alignment have been the core principles of course design in HE since the 90s, and with good reason; they have been shown to positively affect student attainment and motivation. This workshop introduces those key ideas, the conceptual framework that supports them, and their implementation; and more contemporary perspectives that seek to develop or disrupt the status quo, through collaborative design and student-derived curricula.

Participants will complete activities relating to (among other things) drafting learning outcomes and selecting complementary assessment methods.
