Overview

As a researcher, you will encounter research data in many forms, ranging from observations, measurements and surveys to images and audio files. There are tools which can help at various points of the data lifecycle.

Good Research Data Management (RDM) is important for the success of a research project and is mandated by many major funding bodies, including the UK Research Councils, the Wellcome Trust, and the EU’s Horizon 2020 initiative. This session will focus on tools that can be used to support research at each stage of the research data lifecycle. This will include tools for data management planning, data collection and analysis and to support the creation of data documentation. The session will include time to discuss specific questions about the tools or about your research and what tools may be available to help answer your research questions.

Who should attend?

Research Active Staff (RAS) on Research-focussed, Teaching-focussed and Research & Teaching contracts, and PhD students.

• A greater understanding of a range of tools available to support your data management practice and planning as well as where to find help if needed
