Vitae Researcher Development Framework
Vitae was established by the government and research funding councils as a central body to support the professional development of researchers. Vitae developed the Researcher Development Framework, which they promote as a 'comprehensive approach to enhancing the careers of researchers'.
It encourages individual researchers to identify strengths and to prioritise their professional development. Based on four domains, it identifies key skills and knowledge required to be an effective researcher.
You may find it useful to visit the framework at key stages of your career, for example when preparing for your Personal Development Review or when you are considering a change of role. It can help you to identify areas of strength and areas in which you want to focus your development.
