First steps virtual courses

Progress through a six week entry level fitness course. Free for University of Warwick students.

Entry level courses that provide progression throughout six weeks.

Free and open to all University of Warwick students.

You need to be able to commit to all six weeks to join.

All courses take place online on Microsoft Teams.

Take your first steps to...


Gradually build your strength in a friendly and welcoming environment. No equipment needed but you may need a tin of beans or water bottle to help with resistance training.


Learn the basics to get started on your yoga journey. No prior experience needed. The teacher will guide you through flows and relaxing breath work. Use of an exercise mat is preferred but not essential.


Start your fitness journey and gradually build confidence and fitness. No equipment needed, just a space big enough to move in.

How it works

  • Complete the sign-up form and select the course(s) you wish to attend.
  • You’ll receive an email confirming your place on the course.
  • Closer to the start date, a reminder email will be sent with a Teams meeting link.
  • You can use the same meeting link each week. Please remember to turn your camera on so our instructors are able to give you helpful advice and tips as you go.
