What's this?

Whether you are training for a race, want to keep up fitness over summer, or simply increase your distance, the Summer Running Challenge can help motivate you.

Simply pledge how far you think you can run or walk (indoors and outdoors) over August (25km, 50km, 100km, 150km, 200km) and if you achieve your goal you will receive a bespoke medal at the end of the challenge.

In addition there will be one hour long virtual group runs every Saturday at 9am to help keep you motivated. Join in wherever you are in the world, you can even do it at your local Parkrun!

Join the Facebook group to share your progress with other participants.

It costs just £5 to enter and you pledge your distance when you book online.

How does it work?

Simply track your distance in whatever format you like and submit all evidence at the end of the challenge to be verified (by 9am 4 September).

We recommend using the MyWellness app to log your running as you can pull data from any of the other running apps and wearable tech you might use and see you whole month’s data in one place.

Terms & Conditions:

Medals will be ready to collect from two weeks after the end of the challenge and must be collected from the Sports Centre (by the end of October). Please note that we are not able to post medals out.

Cancellation date – 1st August (Full refund will be given in case of cancellation).

Challenge Ethos and Safety:

This challenge is about encouraging all people to get active - any action deemed against this inclusive ethos may result in disqualification.

Please be concious of your own and others' safety when taking part in the challenge: adhere to the Green Cross Code when near roads and wear suitable and visible clothing and footwear.
