Graduation Costs

Congratulations on getting near the end of your degree! Now, as you prepare to graduate, let's dive into the basic graduation expenses you should be aware of:

  1. Guest Tickets: the cost of tickets might be the first thing to come to your mind when you think of the big day. Thankfully, you can invite 2 members of your family or friends without hesitation as Warwick will provide you with 2 free guest tickets to the ceremony! If you need more tickets, they are available for purchase at £10 per person (plus a booking fee).

  1. Academic Dress: It may be news to many people that you must rent your academic dress! This fee ranges from £45 to £58 (based on July 2024 prices) depending on your degree level.

  1. Travel: If you are coming to your ceremony from far away, travel cost is something you need to consider. This will vary depending on whether you are travelling from Leamington Spa, from outside the city, or from another country. Make sure to book early tickets, especially if you will be catching a flight! Make sure to account for the cost of fuel and parking, if you plan to drive. On-campus parking will be available for you and your guests by advance payment.

  1. Accommodation: If you need to book accommodation, check out Scarman or RadcliffeLink opens in a new window as these options are just a short walk from the Arts Centre. Current Rates for 15-26 July 2024 are £98/night for a single room and £122/night for a double when you use the promo code SumGrad24. Need something cheaper? Go a little farther and check out hotels in the city centre. Premier Inn is an affordable option if booked in advance!

  1. Miscellaneous: Other expenses might include beauty services like hairdressing or makeup. People often buy a new outfit for the ceremony as well. These costs will vary largely based on personal preferences. However, if you want to save money on these, you can always do your own hair and makeup and check out VintedLink opens in a new window to buy preloved outfits at a fraction of the original price!
