Shape the Programme

Shape the Programme

At Warwick, students help shape the experiences that matter most. Last academic year, we worked with you through The Big Ask to explore what Warwick’s student community engagement should look like.

A huge thank you to the 800 students who completed the survey, as well as everyone who joined our student-led focus groups and Equity in Focus conversations. Your feedback has directly shaped this year’s Together at Warwick programme — here’s how.

The Big Ask has been all about listening, learning, and working together to make Warwick a more connected and inclusive place. Through pop-ups, conversations, surveys, and student-led workshops, we’ve heard from hundreds of students about what community means to them—and what needs to change.

This hasn’t just been about gathering opinions. It’s been about action. We’ve worked closely with student societies like ADHD Soc, Warwick Autism Society, Warwick Pride, African Caribbean Society, and Black [Untitled], alongside the Widening Participation Team and Disability Services, to make sure a wide range of voices shape the future of student life at Warwick. Our student co-creators also led Equity in Focus sessions, tackling key issues and helping to drive real change.

You Said, We Did!

 You Said

You wanted more regular, low-pressure, relaxed opportunities to meet people and make friends.

 We Did
We created The Community Lounge, based in The Nook, every Tuesday and Thursday. It’s a welcoming space to drop in, join an activity, or just hang out and connect with others.

 You Said
You wanted more chances to make friends with people from different cultures.

 We Did
We launched The Culture Exchange, a fun, welcoming space with activities designed to help students connect across cultures and make new friends — and you can even earn points for the Warwick Award by taking part.

 You Said
You wanted to see more student-led events and activities.

 We Did
We introduced Student Takeovers, where students can share their own ideas, projects, or causes. Plus, we created the Together at Warwick Activity Fund, so students can apply for funding to bring their ideas to life.

 You Said

You don’t always hear about all the great opportunities on campus.

 We Did
We designed Pizza & Projects, a monthly session where staff and student hosts share exciting things happening at Warwick (and yes, there’s free pizza).

 You Said
You love games and crafts.

 We Did
We’re running Games Hub every Tuesday, 3–5pm, and Creative Corner once a month. Both are free, friendly, and open to everyone — drop in for a relaxed session right in the heart of campus, same place, same time each week.

 You Said
You wanted a wider range of cultural celebrations.

 We Did
We’ve expanded our Global Celebrations programme to showcase even more cultures and traditions. Take a look at what’s happening this term, and watch this space for even more in Terms 2 and 3.

 You Said
You love snacks!

We Did
All our Community Lounge events now include snacks. Let us know what you’d like to see on the table next!

We’ll keep listening, testing new ideas, and building a stronger student community together — one event, one conversation, and one connection at a time.
