We are a dedicated, agile, and forward-thinking team, centrally located to support collaboration and efficiency. Our focus is on delivering the highest quality of education and ensuring the best possible experience for our apprentices. By working closely with employer partners, academic departments, and professional service teams across the university, we provide a cohesive and supportive environment. This wraparound approach empowers our apprentices to thrive throughout their learning journey and achieve success in their apprenticeships.

Jackie Whitehouse

An education leader responsible for initiating pioneering developments to realise ambitious targets, enrich and deliver new curriculum and positively impact multiple learner experiences, but especially within widening access, Jackie continues to be driven by ensuring she cultivates purposeful partnerships and implements strategically focused practices, to advance meaningful education outcomes. Her passion continues to be rooted in cultivating opportunities for a broad range of individuals who might never have dreamed of studying within the University of Warwick; in that respect she remains unapologetically bold! 

Jackie is an individual responsible for navigating cultural and transformational change within teams to illicit positive outcomes, whilst fostering collegiate, innovative, inspiring and aspirational mind-sets. An authentic leader, she has a reputation for honesty, truth and generating confidence in capabilities and understanding of the challenges within higher education and beyond. Her principles are simple. Be a good human. Listen, observe and have a long-lasting optimistic impact. Reward and recognise collective endeavours to create confident cultures, where curiosity and intelligent thinking is encouraged, alongside adaptive, agile, co-created and collaborative, shared practices.  

 Jackie’s remit, as Head of Work based & Professional Learning is a joy and a privilege. Jackie gets to work pan-university with both academic and professional service colleagues, and externally with other HEIs, as an External Examiner. She continues to advocate for regional growth and casts her net wide to ensure she is able to support skills development gaps. Productive relationships afford her multiple opportunities to seek out, and plan for new endeavours!
