As an employer you will have provided Warwick with a list of nominees who you want to become apprentices and have their training delivered by Warwick. From that information they will have to go through an application process which is managed through Aptem, with the support of the academic departments they will belong to colleagues in Work Based and Professions Learning.
This section will explain the onboarding process for you as an employer.
Processing Nominations
On receipt of your nominations, UoW will create the applicant an Aptem account, an email is sent to the applicant to activate their Aptem account and it will notify them they have an action, to complete their application form, which is inbuilt into Aptem.
Activating your Aptem Account
Aptem is a tool that the University of Warwick utilise to manage degree apprenticeships, and you will become very familiar with it, during the time you are supporting apprentices, it will be used by apprentices and UoW to record their progress and for you to provide feedback and see their individual progress. UoW will create you an Aptem account, you will be sent an email to activate your Aptem account, and when you log I you will see if you have an action as the bell icon (top right) will indicate when you have actions.
Applicant Completion of Application Process
The applicant will then complete the application form, which consists of several sections, which the University will assess to determine whether the applicant is eligible to do an apprenticeship in England. The applicant must complete all sections and sign their form within Aptem. If the applicant does not complete this form the application process cannot proceed.
Checking of Applications
UoW staff will complete all the checks - eligibility, employment status, qualifications and whether the applicant meets the entry requirements for the degree required, where necessary we will seek additional information from the applicant.
Next steps for Applicant and Employer
Once checks are completed, an applicant will be invited to a Skills Scan or Professional Discussion with an academic colleague (these usually take place in August via Teams) and a formal offer will be made to the applicant. For applicants awaiting A 'Level results their offer will be conditional based on them getting their grades and confirming them with the University.
