The live webinars will be delivered by tutors who teach on the programme, and there will also be an opportunity to ask questions about Warwick, the IFP courses and modules in general. Hear from Dr. Joe Alcantara, on the topic: "Recall is always watching: is AI a helpful assistant or an Orwellian Nightmare?" Microsoft Recall is a feature that ‘keeps track of everything you see and do on your computer and, in return, gives you the ability to search and retrieve anything you’ve done on the device’. Where is the line between helpful and harmful with this new technology? As technology becomes an increasing part of our every day lives, it is crucial that we evaluate risks of this and other software. In this talk, we discuss the Microsoft Recall feature and its pros and cons, as well as think about other areas of computer science where ethics need to be considered. Dr. Alcantara will also provide more information about the course and you will have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have. It is relevant for those interested in the IFP Computer Science or Physics and Engineering courses. |
