What UG course did you study and what was your favourite part about it?

I studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics for my undergraduate degree. The most attractive aspect of my course has to be the diversity of skills offered by the combination of the three disciplines. The program honed both my analytical and qualitative abilities, thus paving the way for diverse career opportunities across numerous industries. Of all the modules, philosophy captivated me the most. It offered profound insights into the nature of reality, taught me to construct logically sound arguments strategically, and sharpened my ability to critically analyze the ideas of others.

How did your IFP course support your academic journey?

The Economics IFP equipped me with the foundational knowledge essential for modules in mathematical and statistical techniques. Beyond academics, the IFP experience allowed me to begin my university journey with close friends, some of whom became my housemates throughout my degree.

What was your favourite thing about being a student at Warwick?

My favourite thing about Warwick is its incredible sense of community. Students from around the globe converge here, creating a rich cultural tapestry and a truly global perspective on campus. The university boasts numerous student societies that cater to a diverse array of interests - from academic and professional groups to arts, sports, and hobbies—fostering a strong sense of belonging and engagement. Personally, my experience at Warwick was deeply enriched by this vibrant community. I had the privilege of founding the Warwick Armenian Society and serving as its president. Additionally, I served as the vice president of the Warwick International Relations Society and the president of the Warwick IFP Society.

What are your future plans and ambitions?

I will soon be joining the global payments company and fintech, Fiserv, as a Project Manager in the Technology Department. My current plan is to explore opportunities within the financial field and see where this path leads me.

What advice would you give to someone thinking of studying the IFP at Warwick and who are interested in progressing to an undergraduate degree here?

Once in the IFP, be proactive! Get involved with societies that interest you, engage with people who challenge your views, give your all to your degree, and never stop pursuing your dreams. Envision your future self as the best version of you and make decisions that bring you closer to that person. If at any point you feel unhappy with your choices—such as finding that the pathway you selected in the IFP doesn't fully align with your academic interests—speak up and don't be afraid to pursue a different academic journey than initially planned. The staff at Warwick are very supportive and flexible regarding your academic experience. They will help you strategically plan a route to change the direction of your degree and future career. Overall, just be present and be true to yourself.
