Form to Provide Existing DBS Check Details

If you have an existing DBS certificate, please use the form below which will be reviewed by Disclosures@warwick.ac.uk. To accept a previous DBS check on the Update Service, the following must apply:

  • It is an Enhanced DBS (we cannot accept Basic or Standard checks)
  • It is not a volunteer check
  • The position, workforce and Barred List checks must match exactly the position you are joining*

If the above do not apply, you will be required to apply for a new DBS certificate through the link sent to you from noreply@knowyourpeople.co.uk. Please note, accepting a previous registered check is at our discretion and will be determined by the Disclosures team.

* PGCE applicants require an Enhanced DBS, Child Workforce, Children's Barred list (we CANNOT accept Child and Adult Workforce, Children and Adult Barred List check DBS for this programme as we are not legally entitled to check at this level for the PGCE programme).

* MB ChB, Clinical Applications of Psychology and Counselling and the Psychotherapeutic Relationship applicants require an Enhanced DBS, Child and Adult Workforce, Children and Adults Barred List.

This is listed under “position applied for” in the top right of your certificate.

The next section is to determine if we need to add an overseas police check condition.  Please note, if you have spent 6 months or more within the last 5 years overseas, you will be required as part of the DBS process to obtain an overseas police check from each country.  If you are unsure on how to obtain this, please contact Disclosures@warwick.ac.uk who will help.

If you have answered "yes" to the above question and that you have lived overseas for 6 months or more in the last 5 years, please enter below the country/countries in which you have resided, and the time you spent there.  If you have answered "no", please submit the form at the bottom of this page and wait for a response within 5 working days from the Disclosures Team.

If you have lived overseas in more than 3 countries outside of the UK for 6 months or more in the last 5 years, please contact Disclosures@warwick.ac.uk with your full 5-year address history.

Once we have received your response to the above form, if your certificate meets our requirements, then the Disclosures team will be in touch by email to provide details of where you can post it to at the university so we can assess the certificate.  Please note your certificate will be retained by the university for collection upon enrolment.
