Alumni Sustainability Spotlight
1. Describe your current role and what attracted you to it
As a Sustainability Consultant for Carbon Neutral Britain, I am responsible for calculating the carbon footprints of businesses in accordance with ISO-14064-1 and the Greenhouse Gas Protocol. Additionally, I create bespoke carbon audit reports and advise clients on how they can reduce their carbon footprint in order to become Net-Zero by 2050.
2. What are the key sustainability skills you learnt at Warwick that have helped you with your career to date?
During my time at Warwick, I learnt how to conduct carbon footprint calculations and life cycle assessments - on top of improving my literacy and report writing skills - which I use daily in my position. Warwick’s Postgraduate program further supported the development of my soft skills like time management, communication, and teamwork.
3. What top tips do you have for Warwick graduates who would like to work in your sector?
Speak to alumni and recent graduates who work in the sector you aspire to work in! Seek advice and guidance from as many people as possible and be a sponge for knowledge. Lastly, be persistent - the job market can be challenging, but you’ll get there, I can promise you!
