Warwick at COP

Warwick's Journey to COP

University of Warwick is home to world-leading interdisciplinary research. Our staff and student community are involved in addressing the global challenges shaping climate action, from the strain on multilateralism and international law to the unequal burden of climate impacts, finance and technology access faced by developing countries.

Our Official Delegation at UNFCCC COP31

This year, the University of Warwick is sending ten official delegates to COP31 in Antalya, Türkiye, where they will be at the heart of conversations on the future of climate action and sustainability.

Led by Professor Celine Tan, Head of the Warwick delegation, our delegates bring together academics, professional staff and student researchers from across the University. Their expertise spans law, policy, science, education and sustainability, reflecting Warwick’s commitment to tackling the climate crisis from every angle.

Professor Stéphanie Panichelli-Batalla and Dr Tom Ritchie are leading four Warwick student researchers through 'Researching at the Frontier', a Policy Support Fund project studying how artificial intelligence is being framed within international climate negotiations. Their work will inform a policy paper for UK policymakers and a model other universities can use to develop student researchers.

Warwick is also a supporting partner of the Higher Education for Climate Action Pavilion in the Blue Zone, where our delegates will present their work on 12th and 18th November and lead the Pavilion Sessions podcast.

Check back each day for updates as our delegates share their experiences, findings and reflections from Antalya.
