City Nature Challenge 2024
Do you live in Coventry or Warwickshire and enjoy spending time in nature? If so, the City Nature ChallengeLink opens in a new window is the perfect event for you! There are a number of activities taking place across the region, including those below on campus, and we’d love for you to get involved.
In 2023, a whopping 566 participants made over 4000 observations in Coventry and
Warwickshire, a significant leap from 1000 in 2022 and 395 in 2021. Your contribution can
make an even bigger impact in 2024!
Join nature enthusiasts across the UK from Friday 26th April to Monday 29th April in photographing and recording as much wildlife as you can. You don’t need to be an expert to take part. Simply download the iNaturalist appLink opens in a new window, take a photo of the wildlife you find, and upload. Sightings submitted contribute towards conservation and monitoring efforts both in the local area and on a national-scale.
Walks during the City Nature Challenge weekend:
During the City Nature Challenge, we will be running two walks on campus which you can get involved in. In these walks, we will be recording all wildlife that we can see.
- Friday 26th April – 9-10am - walk on campus using the iNaturalist app.
- Friday 26th April – 12-1pm - walk on campus using the iNaturalist app.
Staff and students are invited to join us at these events. If you sign up, you will be sent details of the meeting points.
