Energy Tour Recap
Thank you to those who came to our first Energy Walk on the 13th of June. It was brilliant to see so much enthusiasm and interest for the energy projects happening on campus. This walk included discussions around:
- Boreholes and how we are testing to see how best to access thermal energy in the ground
- Solar panels on campus, which can currently generate 1MW of electricity at peak output
- The energy transition over the years
- How the Faculty of Arts building is adapted to be efficient e.g. automatic blinds
- Ways to manage temperature in your own homes
You can find out more about the Energy Strategy and these projects via the webpage, which can be found here.
On August 8th, we will be running another event which will focus on Gibbet Hill and the various energy projects going on there. Sign up to this here.
