Survey confirms presence of hedgehogs at Gibbet Hill

We have been conducting hedgehog footprint tunnel surveys since 2022 and this is only the second time that we found hedgehog footprints on campus!

Community Fridge Relaunched to Combat Food Waste and Support Students

A collaborative initiative between Warwick Food Group, the Department of Chemistry, the Energy & Sustainability Team, and dedicated student volunteers has brought the Community Fridge back into operation.


Webbing on trees and bushes - what does it mean?

There have been several reports of an extensive amount of webbing on trees and shrubs across campus. These webs were spun by various ermine moth species to shelter the developing caterpillars.

Small mammal survey - May 2025

We have been working in partnership with Warwickshire Mammal Group since 2023 to undertake small mammal surveys on campus. Small mammals are vital links of the food chain, and are also often used as indicators of habitat quality and complexity. However, as they are notoriously difficult to observe, small mammal surveys are often conducted using humane live trapping methods, such as using Longworth traps.


City Nature Challenge 2025

We once again participated in the global City Nature Challenge. This year, Coventry, Warwickshire and Solihull joined forces to record as many species as possible during the 4 days of the competition while empowering more and more people to contribute to citizen science.
