A successful City Nature Challenge
Thank you to everyone who took part in the City Nature Challenge over the May Bank Holiday weekend. It was the first time Coventry and the University took part so we were very pleased to have twenty people get involved. They made 307 observations and identified 160 species, with the most observed being Garlic Mustard. The data will add to our knowledge of species present on campus. If you would like to support us in measuring and monitoring wildlife on campus, please contact sustainability@warwick.ac.uk for more information.
Worldwide, 419 cities took part in 44 different countries. Over 45,000 species were recorded including more than 2,000 rare, endangered or threatened species.
Happy Earth Day 2021

City Nature Challenge
Coventry will be taking part in the worldwide City Nature Challenge for the first time this year and we are encouraging people to get involved on campus and in the local area. Between 30th April and 3rd May naturalists, bird watchers, conservation groups and keen wildlife spotters from over 400 cities worldwide will be out and about recording the nature in their local areas so why don’t you join them? Whether you’re an expert or novice it couldn’t be easier to take part.
