11th Bill Carruthers Half-Day Symposium

12th May 2016, University of Warwick

On behalf of the organising committee, you are cordially invited you to attend this half-day symposium which will culminate in the 11th Bill Carruthers lecture given by Professor François Diederich (ETH Zurich). The meeting and lectureship were first established after the death of Bill Carruthers in 1990, to honour his significant contributions to teaching and research in organic chemistry.

Speakers

"Casting Iron in New Catalytic Roles"
Prof. Robin Bedford (University of Bristol)

"Catalytic Rearrangements: Inspiration for Total Synthesis & Development of Methods" Prof. Nuno Maulide (University of Vienna)

"Molecular Recognition in Chemical & Biological Systems: A Multi-Dimensional Approach" Prof. François Diederich (ETH Zurich), the 11th Bill Carruthers Lecturer

Venue

The symposium will commence at 2 pm and will take place in the Woods-Scawen lecture theatre located within the Warwick Arts Centre on the main University campus. The meeting will close at 5.30 pm and will be followed by a complimentary wine reception. Further information about the venue, travel and parking can be found here.

University accommodation is available via +44 (0)24 7657 3925 or reservations at warwick dot ac dot uk. A list of alternative off-campus accommodation is available here.

Registration

The meeting is free to attend but delegates must register by 4th May 2016. Group registrations from research groups/departments are permissible (and indeed encouraged) but we ask that all reasonable efforts are made to ensure accuracy in the final numbers of attending delegates as the lecture theatre has a finite capacity.

The registration form can be found here.
