Coventry Digital Online Workshops
Coventry Digital is a repository of Coventry-related images, documents and videos. Its purpose is to collect these assets to enable evidencing the many stories of the city. The Coventry Digital model principally looks to drive assets out of Coventry Digital, rather than drive traffic to the website. Assets are shared socially and embedded by users via software called SmartFrames, which protects copyright but allows for sharing.
Warwick UK Cities of Culture Project: The Future Trends Series
We are pleased to announce the release of The Future Trends Series today.
The Future Trends series, published as part of the Warwick UK Cities of Culture Project and commissioned by the AHRC, discusses ways of thinking about the value of culture: the importance of research in understanding the place of culture in everyday lives, its impact on local people, society, economy and wellbeing and prosperity at large; and how this research-informed approach connects with the needs of policy making. Each title in the series presents an expert analysis of current and future trends concerning key concepts or ideas, supported by case study evidence from Coventry UK City of Culture 2021.
Warwick UK Cities of Culture Project
This AHRC commissioned review is the first release from the Warwick UK Cities of Culture Project and will be followed by a series of publications and roundtable events later in the year.
The focus of the Warwick UK Cities of Culture Project series is on the distinctive role that arts, humanities and social science researchers, in collaboration with other disciplines, can play in place shaping and in the success of the UK City of Culture programme.
Coventry Creates - Artistic Perspectives and Sharing Research
When artists, researchers and project management team members celebrated Coventry Creates during Resonate Festival April 2022, we took the opportunity to create two short new videos capturing ‘Artist Perspectives on Coventry Creates’ and ‘Exploring Research Together.’
You can hear directly from those involved about the impact the project has had on them and on their work. We also created a Coventry Cathedral mosaic (below) which features an array of images from the event and artworks.
City of Culture and the Benefits of Volunteering
Volunteering is giving your time to help others. However, our project is examining how volunteering also impacts upon volunteers themselves. Read Dr Oyinlola Oyebode's blog on how volunteering positively impacts individuals' wellbeing and their pride in the city of Coventry.
Care, Caring and Carers - Communicating University research through artistic expression
The experiences of care (and caring) for families and communities during the Covid-19 pandemic lies at the heart of Dr Shahnaz Akhter’s recent Coventry Creates project. The research moves away from applying a theoretical lens to issues faced by participants. Instead, it works with communities to understand the challenges that they’ve encountered.
The Coventry Cultural Strategy - have your say!
The Coventry Cultural Strategy is now being refreshed to produce an action plan for 2022-2025 that builds on the transformational success of Coventry UK City of Culture 2021 and we want your input into the final version.
