Art History and Its Methods

Module description
This is a core module taught by all members of staff in the Spring Term. It is designed to help you develop the research skills needed to write your dissertation. It will cover both practical research questions and some more conceptual matters that underpin art historical research, such as analysis of objects, aesthetic judgement and academic writing. The departmental research seminar on Wednesdays is an integral component of the course and there will be occasions where we shall discuss the papers we have heard by visiting scholars.
