2017 - IATL Student as Producer project

British Art Since 1707

An exhibition and performance produced by three History of Art students together with a student from Theatre and Performance Studies.

"Our project is focused on fusing the media of visual art and theatre, telling the story of the history of UK Art since 1707..."

Exhibition and performance held on Sun 18 June 2017 in the Humanities Studio, Millburn House.

Funded by the Institute for Advanced Teaching and Learning (IATL): Student as Producer (Performance).

2015 - Exhibition: Hart Silversmiths: A Living Tradition - contributed research.

Hart Silversmiths exhibition

Undergraduate Pippa Shergold contributed research to this exhibition which was held at Compton Verney.

"This exhibition explores the evolution of a unique living tradition in design and silversmithing which has its origins in the Arts and Crafts Movement".

Corpus of Romanesque Sculpture in Britain and Ireland, Derbyshire

Three undergraduate History of Art students and their tutor carried out a survey of churches in Derbyshire to find and record 11th- and 12th-century sculpture for the Corpus of Romanesque Sculpture in Britain and Ireland, an on-line resource of photos and information.

Church of St Mary de Castro in Leicester

This project was run in conjunction with the Corpus of Romanesque Sculpture in Britain and Ireland (CRSBI). Our contribution was to record the most significant sites in the county of Leicestershire, and prepare the entries for the website.

2012 - Art gallery exhibition curated by third-year students.

New Art for a New Age: Optimism in Post-War British Abstraction.

Exhibition in preparation

In 2011-2012 a group of third-year students in the department curated an exhibition at Leamington Spa Museum & Art Gallery, from the collections of the Arts Council and the University of Warwick. The exhibition explored the optimism of abstraction in Britain c.1960, and ran from May 3rd to July 1st 2012.

2012 - URSS Project

Kirby Hall - URSS Scheme 2012

Kirby Hall

This project was to record the stonemasons' marks on Kirby Hall in Northants, the great house built from the 1570s and modified in the 1630s, and now in the care of English Heritage.

2011 - URSS Project

The Construction of the Cistercian Church at Pontigny, c. 1130-1150.

Pontigny

The project tests the theory that the building, including its vaults was constructed in a single campaign by recording and analysing the constructional and masons' marks known to exist on its fabric
