2026 Monash-Prato - Graduate Research Writing & Publishing Workshop

We invite you to join the 2026 Monash Graduate Research Writing and Publishing Workshop! This year the 4.5 day Workshop will be held in Prato, Italy from Monday 15th June 2026 – Friday 19th June 2026 (inclusive) at the Monash University Prato Centre, Italy.

Five funded places are available, each including a bursary for the costs of travel and accommodation (£1250 maximum)

Led by Monash University, the workshop’s aim is to mentor PGR students to enhance their skills in preparing, writing, and getting an article published in a major academic journal or a chapter published in a with a recognised quality commercial or university press publisher. Individual sessions address the various stages of the article/book chapter writing process from planning and drafting, to writing abstracts and responding to reviewers’ comments. The event is jointly coordinated with partner institutions from UK and beyond, including the University of Warwick.

Eligibility

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be current PGR students from the Faculty of Arts at Warwick.
  • Have successfully completed their upgrade.
  • Have not yet submitted.
  • Be able to travel to Prato, Italy to attend the workshop.
  • Outline a developed and achievable writing proposal for a journal article or quality book chapter with a recognised quality commercial or university press publisher, which must be submitted by the end of 2026 (successful candidates will be required to complete a 500-word report).
  • Have the support of their Warwick supervisor/s.
  • Have not attended this workshop previously
