Wenkai He is an Associate Professor in the Division of Social Science at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He received PhD degree in the Department of Political Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2007. In 2007-08, he was the An Wang Post-doctoral fellow in the Fairbank Center for Chinese Studies at Harvard University. In 2016-17, he was the Radcliffe/Yenching Fellow in the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study at Harvard University. He is currently working on a manuscript about state legitimation and social policies in early modern England, Japan, and China.
