The International Courtly Literature Society (British Branch)
The ICLS exists to promote the study and criticism of the literature of courts and court-oriented cultures, particularly the medieval literature of Western Europe
The British Branch
The ICLS is an international society with branches across Europe and North America. Membership of the British Branch is open to anyone concerned with the study and/or teaching of courtly literature, who is living or working in Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, or a country that has no ICLS branch (including Australia and New Zealand). We welcome unaffiliated, retired, and postgraduate members. The Branch participates in the Triennial International Congress of the ICLS, organises national conferences in years where there is no international congress, and maintains an e-mail discussion list for members.
