Module-Renaissance Europe I (Syllabus & Reading list) 2023-24-Term 1

RS200 & RS300 ~ 'Renaissance Europe I: Origins, Traditions and Society of the Renaissance' [formally Foundations and Forms]

All classes will take place on Mondays, 14:00-16:00, room FAB1.11, except week 10 which is on Thursday, in the Modern Records Centre teaching room

Module codes are: RS200-15 (intermediate year students) and RS300-15 (final year students)

Assessment method is 100% essay. Yr 2 students-1 x 3500-word essay chosen from a list of given titles; Yr 3 students-1 x 4000–4500 word essay, on a freely chosen topic determined in consultation with the module convenors and/or tutors.

Week 10: Booksellers, Students, and Academics: A Social History of Knowledge in the Renaissance [Floris Verhaart]
