29th February 2012 - Victorians and the future

Pegwell Bay, KentThis session was facilitated by Chris Yiannitsaros, from the Department
of English and Comparative Literary Studies. Chris set the theme of 'Victorians and the Future', and we read extracts from E.B. Tylor's 1871 work Primitive Cultures alongside The Time Machine by H. G. Wells. We also considered William Dyce's painting 'Pegwell Bay, Kent'.
