Dr Sarah Walford
About
Sarah studied Archaeology and Ancient History at the University of Birmingham. Her work as an archaeologist eventually took her into architecture and building conservation and she completed her MA in Architectural History at Keele University. She joined Warwick in 2005 as part of the AHRC funded project 'The life and work of Sir Basil Spence, 1907-76: architecture, tradition and modernity', completing her PhD on the careers of Sir Basil Spence and Sir Donald Gibson. She compiled the 'List of Works' for Professor Louise Campbell's book Sir Basil Spence: Buildings and Projects.
Research interests
Sarah's main interests are the life and career of Coventry's first City Architect Sir Donald Gibson and Coventry's pioneering role in post-war public sector architecture.
