Getting to Venice

Flying to Venice

The nearest airport to Venice is Marco Polo (about 5 km from Venice). The next closest airport to Venice is Treviso (about 30 km from Venice).

When booking your flight, please bear in mind that you need to be in Venice by the Sunday before the start of the Spring Term. Since it is not reasonable to expect your landlord/lady to meet you after 7pm, you should book a flight that lands before 3pm in the afternoon: you will need at least 2 hours from your arrival time to get to your flat, factoring in passport control, baggage collection, customs, journey time to Venice and then to your flat. You MUST stay in Venice until the Friday of Week 10.

Excess Baggage

Most airlines are very strict about the weight of checked baggage, and charge for excess. Check before it's too late!
