Professor Jonothan Neelands PhD, DSc is a National Teaching Fellow, Professor of Creative Education at WBS (40% FTE). He is also Academic Director Cultural Partnerships (60% FTE) and formerly Chair of Drama and Theatre Education at the University of Warwick. Recently, he was Director of Study for the Warwick Commission on the Future of Cultural Value and Research Project Director for the Creative Industries Federation. He has a track record of working closely with colleagues in the Centre for Cultural & Media Policy Studies on cultural value and creative exchange. He is Director of Research on the Executive Committee for Coventry City of Culture 2021 and a trustee of the City of Culture Trust. He was the lead writer for the Coventry Cultural Strategy 2017-2021. Research interests include: policy and practice in the Creative Industries; cultural place making; models of cultural and creative learning; the politics of cultural and education policy-making; teaching in urban settings; creativity and entrepreneurship. He worked closely over the years with Dr Vishalakshi Roy.
