Conference Dinner: A Big Birthday Bash

When: Thursday 28 August, 7.30pm-midnight

Where: The Box, Fargo Village (Far Gosford St, Coventry, CV1 5ED)

The Conference Dinner - our big birthday bash - will be held in the Box, at Fargo Village in Coventry.

You can expect yummy Caribbean street food accompanied by excellent music to celebrate Coventry's music heritage. There will be two sets from a Two Tone Band and plenty of opportunities to dance. Bookings for the event have now closed - and we can confirm that over 150 of us will be celebrating together!

Please be aware that the venue operates a cashless bar.

The cost of your conference dinner ticket includes:

a welcome drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic)
a grazing charcuterie board starter
a seated meal of Caribbean street food (3 main dishes, 2 sides dishes and a salad): Chickpea and potato curry (vegan), Mutton Like curry (vegan), Jerk chicken, Rice and peas, Vegan Mac n' cheese pie and coleslaw.
Entertainment - including two 45-minute sets by Ruder Than U, a Two Tone band, and then some tunes selected by our very own Dr Ronan Hatfull to continue dancing to through until midnight.
a contribution towards the hire of the venue.

Timings for the Conference Dinner are confirmed as follows:

7pm - Doors Open/ Welcome Drinks
7.30pm - Grazing Charcuterie
8pm - Caribbean Street Food
9pm-9.45pm - Set 1 of the band
10.15pm-11pm - Set 2 of the band
11pm-12pm - Disco

Travelling to Fargo Village and the Box

Delegates will need to make their own way to and from the venue. An Uber will cost approx. £15 each way and we recommend grouping together.

The easiest way by bus is to take the 12X towards Coventry and get off at Starley Gardens (the stop after The Herbert Art Gallery). It is then a 13 minute walk to the venue. There should be a bus at 18.40 which would get you to the venue by about 19.10, or the next one is at 18.51 to arrive at 19.25.

If you want to get a bit closer you could also get the 12X at 18.55, get off at Starley Gardens and jump on a 13 at 19.13, getting off at Gosford Green (Bramble Street) which is a 5 min walk from the venue or try 12X at 19.10, get off at Starley Gardens and jump on a 13 at 19.13, getting off at Gosford Green which is just a 1 min walk from the venue.

Single journey tickets are £3, if you are planning to use more than one bus or come home by bus, you will save by getting a 1 day nbus ticket which costs £5.20.
