WUB-hub webinar: Holding the dictators to account?
On 25 March (Monday) the WB-hub project will run another webinar focusing on the topic of 'Holding the dictators to account?'
Will Russia’s Vladimir Putin ever stand trial for war crimes in Ukraine? Last March the International Criminal Court (ICC) indicted him for the forcible transfer of Ukrainian children to Russia, and the Belarusian opposition wants the court to issue an arrest warrant for Alyaksandr Lukashenka on the same charges. This webinar assesses the chances of seeing justice for actions during the war. How can international courts act when defendants don’t recognise their jurisdiction? Can the dictators be held accountable for their actions?
Speakers will include Dr Anais Marin, SR-UN; Prof. Kanstantsin Dehtiarou, Liverpool University; and represesntatives of COE and ICJ
