SOCIAT Collaborators

SOCIAT has been co-developed in collaboration with researchers and practitioners interested in findings new ways of measuring social impacts of protected areas.

Practitioners

Several workshops have been organised (2020-2022), facilitated by EUROPARC Federation, aiming to gather feedback from park authorities and improve the tool. A list of park authorities who participated in our workshops are listed here.

Sebastian Villasante
Professor Sebastian Villasante is based at the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain). He is interested in understanding the social adaptation, transformations and vulnerabilities of marine social-ecological systems to global change, and examining trade-offs in managing and conserving living marine resources.

Dr Juraj Svajda is an assistant professor at Matej Bel University in Slovakia, where he specialises in teaching and research related to nature conservation and management of protected areas, including ecosystem services and human dimensions of natural resources management.

Panayiotis G. Dimitrakopoulos is a Professor of Functional Ecology at the Department of Environment of the University of the Aegean, Greece. His research focuses on plant ecology, serpentine ecology, biodiversity conservation and planning, and conservation policy.

Dr Anne Cadoret
Dr Anne Cadoret

Anne Cadoret is a Senior Lecturer in Geography and Land-use Planning at Aix-Marseille University, CNRS TELEMMe. She works on processes of conflict within terrirories in the frame of social geography studies of the environment and more particularly on vulnerable areas such as coastal zones and seas.
