What is it about?

The Social Impact Assessment Training (SOCIAT) program, offered by the University of Warwick in 2025, is a dynamic initiative designed to empower professionals involved in nature protection and restoration projects. This training equips participants with the essential skills to assess the social outcomes of conservation efforts, enhance governance structures, and bolster public support for environmental initiatives. It's also tailored for individuals responsible for subcontracting social impact assessments, ensuring comprehensive understanding and application.

Participants will delve into the theoretical and methodological framework of SOCIAT, a tool that has been successfully applied in over 27 sites.

  • Data Collection and Analysis: Monitoring response rates, coding data, identifying trends, capturing social impacts across space and predicting changes of impacts over time.​
  • Reporting: Summarizing key findings for a wider audience, visualizing results, and providing actionable insights for governance improvements.​
