“Focus on … revision”: What do we mean by ‘revision’ and how can we help students do it?

The idea of ‘revision’ conjures late night cramming for exams, hot summer days in the library, piles of flashcards and complicated mind maps. But when we speak about ‘revision’ in our subjects are we all talking about the same thing? Do we make assumptions that students know how to revise, and have the same ideas about revision as us? Is ‘revision’ even desirable?

In this ‘Focus on…’ session we will explore what we mean by revision and think about how we might support students' to do it.
