What can schools teach universities?: Best Practice from English Secondary Schools

The UK's education systems is varied and multifaceted. However, there is no reason why the best practices from one sector cannot be adapted to another.

In this session we will explore some of the concepts, principles and practices currently prominent in English secondary schools. Not only will you be given an opportunity to reflect on your own practice, you will be presented with ideas and resources which you might be able to adapt and then utilise in a module that you are currently teaching on. There will be some useful resources to take away, which you can shape and adapt for your own students.

Areas covered will include: promoting knowledge and knowledge retention; mapping a 'learning journey'; approaches to assessment and feedback.
