Fellowship (Advance HE)
Who is Fellowship for?
Individuals applying for Fellowship will be able to provide evidence of broad-based effectiveness in more substantive teaching and supporting learning role(s). The teaching and /or support for learning practice enables these individuals to evidence all 15 of the PSF 2023 Dimensions and show the ‘breadth and depth’ of their work. Examples of roles which may evidence Fellowship criteria include:
- Early career academics;
- Academic-related and/or support staff holding substantive teaching and learning responsibilities;
- Experienced academics relatively new to UK higher education;
- Staff with (sometimes significant) teaching-only responsibilities including, for example, within work-based settings.
About Fellowship and the Professional Standards Framework (PSF) 2023
Fellowship is suitable for professionally recognising individuals from a variety of backgrounds who demonstrate comprehensive practice with learners, covering all PSF 2023 Dimensions. This includes staff with significant teaching responsibilities or professional staff supporting higher education learning across all Dimensions. This fellowship acknowledges their ability to meet the standards outlined in PSF 2023 Descriptor 2.
Fellowship (Descriptor 2) is for individuals whose practice with learners has breadth and depth, enabling them to evidence all PSF 2023 Dimensions. Effectiveness of practice in teaching and/or support of high-quality learning will need to be demonstrated to meet Descriptor 2 through evidence of the following three criteria statements:
- D2.1 use of all five Professional Values.
- D2.2 application of all forms of Core Knowledge.
- D2.3 effective and inclusive practice in all five Areas of Activity.
