Introduction to Teaching & Learning in HE Booking Form

For postgraduate research students who are new to teaching in HE.

The session is mandatory if you will be teaching more than 20 hours in an academic year. You are also encouraged to attend if you will be doing less teaching than this or will be teaching at Warwick in the near future.

Session topics include:

'How students learn', 'Small group teaching', 'Facilitation skills', 'Assessment and Feedback', and 'Challenging Situtations'

What will you get out of this session:

By the end of the session you will have an understanding of:

• your role and responsibilities as a tutor
• the basic principles of student learning and how to apply these to your teaching
• teaching techniques which are appropriate for your context
• assessment and feedback and their role in student learning
