Please join the launch of major new research report investigating human rights and health rights of young adults living with and affected by HIV in the digital
age in Colombia, Ghana, Kenya, and Vietnam, by the Digital Health and Rights Project (DHRP) Consortium.
The study—the largest of its kind—highlights how barriers such as stigma, harassment, and digital exclusion block access to essential health support online.
It also explores how young adults are mobilizing to find new ways to solve these problems, with recommendations for a more inclusive digital future. This study is based on participatory action research with young adults, including LGBTQ+ people, sex workers, people living with HIV and others in rural, urban and peri-urban areas, contributing to design, data-gathering, analysis and advocacy throughout the research.
Why it matters
This report reveals critical gaps in digital rights protections, offering recommendations to ensure that the digital transformation of health does not
deepen inequalities and lead to harms. With contributions from over 300 young people across four countries, the study presents vital evidence for policymakers, tech companies, and health advocates working to bridge digital divides and protect human rights in the digital future.
About the DHRP Consortium
The members of the Consortium include the Global Network of People Living with HIV (GNP+), along with its affiliated networks NAP+ Ghana and VNP+, as
well as the Kenya Legal & Ethical Issues Network on HIV & AIDS (KELIN), Privacy International, Restless Development, STOPAIDS, Universidad de los Andes, and the Centre for Interdisciplinary Methodologies at the University of Warwick. The Future of Human Rights in the Digital Age project is funded by Fondation Botnar.
