Research
PhD working title: Living Bodies in Deep-Time
Research topic: The irreversible conditions of the planet climate crisis have grown an ecological consciousness. However, the problem of thinking about the non-human beyond the human perspective remains. How can the object of art, through its intrinsic process of material transformation, reveal the non-human process? My interdisciplinary PhD research seeks to examining the geological scale of the deep time through the lens of clay following new materialism perspective and its influence on curatorial practice. Clay acts as the skeleton to overcoming the cognitive challenge to comprehend and relate to life in geological eras and embody a relational approach to a sentient more-than-human world.
